In contemporary society, we are accustomed to the pursuit of efficiency, precision and uniqueness. However, this also makes us gradually lose the ability to feel ambiguity, accept misunderstanding and acquire physical experience. Exhibition was originally a site of perception and experience, but nowadays, with the academic pursuit and commercial demand, it has become a tool for loading ‘meaning’, and it has become more and more difficult for exhibition to really get audience touched.

Toast to the Void invokes Nietzsche’s “Dionysian Spirit” and the revelry of the ancient Roman “Bacchanalia” Festival to reimagine the exhibition as a multi-sensory ritual. Here, misunderstanding is not a flaw but a valid mode of perception; the collapse of meaning is not an end but a gateway to new cultural sensitivities. Rather than presenting fixed interpretations, we invite you to inhabit a space where language falters and the body reclaims its power to sense and respond.
